Many believe that eyes are the windows to the soul, and the first thing somebody notices about your appearance. Unfortunately, the eyes are also the first facial feature to start showing key signs of ageing. When we look tired, bags begin to form and due to a loss of elastin and collagen, over time fine lines develop. Collagen production decreases over time, primarily due to the natural ageing process. There are a number of external factors that can speed up this process and cause further ageing around the eyes. They include smoking, excessive sun exposure, pollution and stress. Crow’s feet, droopy eyelids, saggy skin, wrinkles and other skin imperfections around the eyes are all treatable at our aesthetic clinic in Leamington Spa and London Harley Street.
The Madonna Eye Lift was first brought to the attention of the masses and media when Madonna underwent a similar procedure that gave her a younger more wide-eyed look. This non-surgical treatment was a massive hit overnight, with many wanting to experience similar results to surgical procedures, such as the Blepharoplasty.
The CO2 laser assisted blepharoplasty works to resurface the aged skin, encouraging the body to start producing collagen. This will help to tighten skin and give you a smooth and youthful appearance once again. The procedure offers very few risks with minimal downtime. The eye lift aims to treat crow’s feet and reduce fine lines & wrinkles around the eyes. The eyebrow area is also able to be treated with the CO2 laser, this creates a lifted and rejuvenated appearance.
Firstly, all patients will attend a face to face medical consultation with our laser specialist or doctor. During your appointment we will assess your suitability for treatment and you will have a patch test to ensure you’ll be able to see the best results after treatment. A full medical history will be taken and you’ll also have chance to ask any questions on your mind and hear about the aftercare process.
We will apply a numbing cream prior to the treatment to ensure a comfortable and pain free procedure. Your safety and comfort is most important to us.
We use the medical grade device, Smartxide Touch CO2 laser to perform the treatment. This laser targets only the damaged skin and leaves the surrounding healthy skin untouched. Collagen production is stimulated during treatment and you’ll notice continuous results over the next 6 months. The procedure itself will take no longer than 5 minutes per eye depending on your concern or skin imperfection. We also need to ensure that the anaesthetic cream used has had chance to come into effect, which can take up to 30 minutes. During treatment, the laser glides over the skin to stimulate the production of collagen. The laser works by removing the thin outer layer of the affected skin. Because the laser sterilises the skin, you will not see any blood and there is a low risk of hypo/hyperpigmentation in skin type 1-3. You’ll see many very small dots on your skin after treatment. Patients can benefit from little downtime following treatment and you must follow the correct aftercare instructions.
After the procedure, you’ll notice that the eye area is a little red and hot to touch – a similar sensation to sun burn. You may also experience some minor swelling. These effects will typically reduce within a few days up to one week of the procedure.
The non-surgical blepharoplasty with the DEKA Smartxide Touch CO2 laser is popular and suitable for those who are experiencing ageing around the eyes. It is a great alternative procedure to a mild blepharoplasty, but with reduced risks, downtime and cost.
Backed by decades of clinic research and studies, the procedure is safe and offers the very best cosmetic results. We only choose the very best medical lasers on the market to ensure safety and patient satisfaction.
